Using a calligraphy pen, Jana Chodonowitsch explores states of the human body in the context of dual themes such as strength and exhaustion, or hope and fear. With a single, unbroken line, these figurative illustrations “quake” their way out of the artist’s subconscious in a matter of seconds. The analog illustrations are never corrected or retouched. In 2023, Jana Chodonowitsch finally gave them the name “Quakes” (from the English word for “to tremble”).
